In todays blog post, my good friend Antonela, is talking about ecology. She's giving us few tips how we can be more environmentally-friendly and how we can make our lives more healthy. She's also a youtuber so make sure to check out here awesome channel where I did a small interview about bloging as job. Click here to watch it- VIDEO.

Change your eating habits

The biggest and the most effective change you can do to help the environment is to eat less or none animal products. Animal agriculture is one of the biggest causes of global warming and the biggest cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution and deforestation.
A person who doesn't eat any animal products aka vegan produces the equivalent of 50% less carbon dioxide, uses 1/11th oil, 1/13th water, and 1/18th land compared to a meat-lover for their food. The producement of animal products requiers a lot of land, water and grain.1.5 acres can produce 375 pounds of meat while those same 1.5 acres can produce 37,000 pounds of plant-based food. I know there are a lot of numbers and scientific stuff but for better explanations and more informations watch Cowspiracy.

In short: Each day, a person who eats a vegan diet saves 1,100 gallons of water, 45 pounds of grain, 30 sq ft of forested land, 20 lbs CO2 equivalent, and one animal’s life.

Recycle

You've probably heard of this one a thousand times but I'll say it one more time RECYCLE. You can recycle almost everything; clothes, papers, glass, plastic, metals, phones etc. Wearing your older brother's or sister's clothes is also a form of recycling. If you don't use something donate it to someone and you've recycled!

Buy less from fast fashion stores

Fast fashion clothing collections are based on the most recent fashion trends and are made by underpaid workers at sweatshops in poor countries. The clothes are made cheaply with inorganic materials, oil and chemicals what leads to a large source of deadly carbon emissions and water pollution. So what can you do about that? Try to shop less in fast fashion stores (H&M, Zara, Mango…) and buy second hand or fair trade. For more information about fast fashion watch a documentary The True Cost.

Change plastic for sth fantastic

We all know how bad plastic is for the environment yet we use it in our every day life (including me). But there are some things that we can all do and that are super easy but helpful to our planet. Plastic bags are so harmful for the environment they were even a cause of two floods in Bangladesh. Plastic bags are made of toxic materials and need over 1000 years to decompose. What you can do is replace plastic bags with canvas bag. Also, replace your plastic bottle with a glass bottle. It will last longer and it won't be as harmful to the environment.

Go into nature

And lastly, just go out. Go into nature and see how beautiful it is. Look how it becomes more and more polluted every day. Start taking care of our planet. Remember the Earth can function (better) without us but we cannot live without the Earth.
